Maria will feature at the Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival in an event celebrating 100 years of Polish independence and Polish women gaining the vote.

In a panel discussion chaired by Ursula Phillips, I will talk about MP-J’s achievements as a playwright. She wrote over a dozen plays, in which she explored – often in comic form and compared to Oscar Wilde and G B Shaw – ideas of womanhood and how women could exercise their freedom in the male-dominated world.

Could some of her ideas shock us today?
